2011 – DIVERSE OPTICS INC.
A team of senior managers led by then Managing Director Erik Fleming completes a management buyout of Qioptiq Polymer Inc. when parent Qioptiq s.a.r.l. of Paris France announces plans to “divest polymer optics molding to focus on core optics and photonics activities.” The new company incorporates in California as Diverse Optics Inc., a return to the company’s roots of 30 years of polymer optics excellence. In March of 2012, the company relocates to the current facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
2005 – QIOPTIQ POLYMER, INC.
Candover Investments plc of London acquires seven Thales High Tech Optics companies, including Thales Polymer Optics, Inc. Together they form the Qioptiq Group, a global optics and photonics solutions provider. As a result, Thales Polymer Optics, Inc. becomes Qioptiq Polymer, Inc.
2001 – THALES POLYMER OPTICS, INC.
Thales (formerly Thomson CSF), acquires the Avimo Group, transforming Avimo Precision Polymer Optics, Inc. into Thales Polymer Optics, Inc. Founder Knut Larsen leaves the company in 2002. The company moves from its original location in San Dimas a few miles East to La Verne California.
1999 – AVIMO PRECISION POLYMER OPTICS, INC.
Diverse Optics Inc. is acquired by the Avimo Group of Singapore and becomes Avimo Precision Polymer Optics, Inc.
1987 – DIVERSE OPTICS, INC.
Diverse Optics is founded in San Dimas, California by Knut Larsen as a leading manufacturer of precision molded plastic optics used in a wide range of commercial markets.
